I have a 2006 Toshiba Satellite A105, i keep getting this windowsroot.hal message, i can't even start up windows. the computer was working fine, i tried to recover it using the disks with the computer and now it won't work. can someone help please?

Go to here and follow the instructions. If that doesnt work go back to Recovery console and at the prompt type:

expand x:\i386\hal.dl c:\windows\system32\hal.dll . press Enter. (x is the drive in which the xp cd is placed).
