DVD/CD drive not working, can anyone help?

dvd's and my 1 reads dvds earlier...1week...and now only reading cds!

Yep that tells me the dvd's are good since they work in any other system but the drive itself has just lost the dvd read part of it. The drive can still read cd's with no problem correct?

OK one other step you can try. Remove the drive from the laptop and then reinstall it. Sometimes the connections might get dirty causing it not to function correctly.

Not that hard honestly. There should be a screw or two that holds it in place or there is a tab to push that releases it.

Are you still having problems with your issue?
It has been 15 days since your last response and I was wondering if the issue has been resolved?
