I have a Creative X-Fi Extreme Music and the Z5500's (Logitech 5.1). At the moment they are running off the supplied 3.5mm jacks.

1) Are these standard cables just combined into 1 cable?
2) Is it worth upgrading the cables with 3 seperate 3.5mm cables such as screened, gold plated and oxygen free ones? If so what ones would you reccommend (Budget is £30 not including delivery).
3)How can 3.5mm jacks be cleaned? I tried isoproply alcohol - no joy.

Hi, i also have the z5500's. I would recommend ditching the analog cables with that great sound card you have, and get an optical cable. The difference is very nice.
