Hi guys,

I hope this is in the right place but I'm having real trouble installing some software on my machine.

When trying to install MalwareBytes, it comes up with an error
'Internal error. Failed to expand shell folder constant "userappdata"'

A similar thing happens when I try to install SuperAntiSpyware
'Error 1606. Could not access network location %APPDATA%\.'

Other program installations are also affected by the %APPDATA%\. error

It's driving me mad :)

I'm sorry if this has been asked previously, but I would be so grateful for your help

Thanks

Chris

Well my first thought is to send to Malware to have them check you out for a infection. Did you recently download anything or install anything right before this started?

Nothing that I am aware of.

I fogot to add that I have Avira Antivir installed and it hasn't found any malware infection so far after running a full scan of the system.

We do not post Hijack this logs in this forum.
We also do not use hijack this anymore.

I can't help you with the error, but you have

C:\Program Files\COMODO\COMODO Internet Security\cfp.exe
C:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir Desktop\avgnt.exe

i hope you are not running 2 virus scanners because they will conflict.
