It's been making a buzzing noise (on-and-off) ever since I got it about a year ago, but usually tapping the top of the computer would fix it. Now it's started again and I can't get it to stop, I can't even hear my music over it it's silly.

So I was just wondering is there any solution or do I have to buy a new one? If I have to buy a new one, may I request help into what I'm looking for as I know nothing about PSU's. So reccommended make/models and what I need to fit my spec... Or where to look to get the spec of my current PSU so I can just buy another.

Thanks in advance.

Are you sure the noise is coming from the PSu and not the second case cooling fan usually located right under or above your PSU. This depends on if your PSU is a top or bottom mounted unit.
When you turn the system on look at the back of the PSU and is the fan turning when the noise happens and if so when you tap on the top does the fan speed up and the noise stop?
Second the specs on the PSU are usually on a sticker on the unit. I assume this is a desktop so just take the side off and look on the PSU itself and there should be all the information you need. The most important is the wattage. Do you know that and if not that information is what we would need to assist you.
Is there a warranty on the PSU?
