Often when playing videos on my Windows XP I will suddenly get a "blue screen of death" and the computer will automatically restart. It has happened while viewing the Australian ABC I-View site and also while trying to watch videos posted on robbiewilliams.com. I shall include information from a Belarc Analysis ...

Download BlueScreenView
No installation required.
Double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

Thanks Broni,

I have reinstalled comodo back up and have successfully played videos - so hopefully it is fixed. This may be getting off topic - but I turned to comodo after the windows back-up utility stopped working - it just freezes - is there a way to repair it? - is comodo the best free alternative? SyncBack seems to review well.

But again thanks for your assistance, bsod is a handy tool

I had been using the back-up utility that came with Windows XP but it has stopped working. Nothing happens but eventually after a long delay the icon just hangs there on the screen with either a message "looking for backup devices" or just a blank white rectangle. If this back-up can't be repaired easily I'd like advice on wether comodo back up is a good option or something else such as SyncBack

I'm not aware of any backup function with Comodo.

I suggest, you use one of imaging programs, which are the best way to back up your computer:

Acronis True Image: http://www.acronis.com/ - not free, but the best

Free alternatives:

In response to the original poster and in question to Broni:

I am having similar issues with my computer. I have received multiple BSODs in the last week or so. These include: System_Service_Exception, Driver_IRQL_not_less_or_equal, Bad_Pool_Header, Page_Fault_in_Nonpaged_Area as well as Grey screens (GSODs) upon initial startup.
