I have a dell latitude c610 & sometimes I like to listen to music on it. I dont know anything about sound cards or media players or any of that. However I want to get the best sound I can outa this old computer. Someone here suggested I use VLC media player instead of Windows Media Player. To me VLC makes my music sound better. I like all the effects & filters & equalizer-like options. And when I listen with my cheap little liqueur store headphones my music sounds really good. But is VLC my best option for media player FREEWARE?

And this is what my system information says about my sound device..........

Name Crystal WDM Audio Codec
Manufacturer Cirrus Logic, Inc.
Status OK
PNP Device ID PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2485&SUBSYS_59591013&REV_01\3&61AAA01&0&FD
I/O Port 0x0000D800-0x0000D8FF
I/O Port 0x0000DC80-0x0000DCBF
IRQ Channel IRQ 5

Any suggestions?
Please & Thank you!
