I am unable to download photos from my Canon SD500 to my PC. The
camera downloads to a Mac just fine, but for some reason it does not
download to my PC. I have loaded all the software, but ZoomBrowser EX
fails to acquire images from my camera (gives me an error that the
CameraWindow is already running). The computer recognizes the
hardware, but when I tried to acquire images from it (as though it
were a separate drive) it tells me the camera is busy. I tried
uninstalling an reinstalling the software that came with the camera
with no improvement. I tried to google a response, found a message
board with similar complaints of using the SD500 with Windows XP, but
none of these seemed to work...and Canon has been unresponsive to my
requests. Please help if you can...

Hi smallfish and welcome to Geeks to Go.

Did you install the software and drivers before you attached the camera?
Did you try rebooting the computer?
Have you looked in the Manual starting on page 146?
