Hi,

I am trying to help a pal in USA with a problem - whenever he conducts a Bing or Google search he loses control of his computer, no keyboard input, mouse or anything!

I am keen to try to help him out but have run into a dead end.

Can anyone tell me if this is likely to be a symptom of malware or trojan activity? A question elsewhere, brought this suggestion: "Folks, there are sneaky TDSS rootkit/trojan variants that replace drivers, like atapi.sys or ndis.sys. It redirects hyper links from search engines." but I am not sure how to apply the suggested remedy.

If it is likely to be a result of infection, I will help my pal to send the reports of scans etc,

Thanks,

Roger
