I am trying to use one cat5 cable for to compurter connections. I used the orange and green pairs for one circuit and the brown and blue pairs for the other network. I can not get this to work. :tazz:

I am using the straight thru connections and am connecting to a 3com hub with the uplink buttion pressed in. I have another compurter connected to this hub and it will get on the internet fine. I have tried every port on the hub with the computer that works and all ports on the hub work. I have dsl service. I figured that with the network using only 4 wires that you can use the other 4 wires for another connection point. Is my thinking correct.

Please Help

only if you pick the right 4 wires. with cable as cheap as it is just get another patch cable and be done with it.

Howdy:

Sorry but it doesn't work that way.. only one connection per cable..

As mentioned, get another Cat5 cable or, if you screwed up the first one, get two and be sure!!
