Hi

I am fearly new to pc's so please be patient and help me out. I want to know if it is at all possible to only use the audio from a dvd if I want to make an audio cd?

That depends on whether the DVD is protected or not. If not, you can download programs that basically take the audio from the DVD out and output to (a) file(s) that you can then burn in audio CD format. Simply speaking.
