Have a Memorex DVD+RAM 530L v1 internal drive that's recently acted up. Has been reading and burning fine for over 2 years. A couple weeks ago started throwing errors when burning discs. (only CD, I haven't tried dvds yet) The error is 4000.
(Side note)The actual open/close button was not operating correctly for months as well.
Before I start buying any upgrade software (or a new burner altogether) wanted to know if anyone else was experiencing this problem. I see another member was having similar problems, but I could not ascertain their final conclusions.

Try different burning program.
If it experiences same issue, most likely, you need a new drive (~$30)
