Is it possible to record streaming audio (from youtube or online radio) thru the sound card and not the microphone? I've used MP3MyMP3 and Audacity but neither has the option for only recording thru the sound card. This can get really frustrating due to background noise and low audio quality.

I read on another blog that Windows Vista has disabled this function - any truth in this?

Any tips would be much appreciated.
Thanks :)

You can (and Audacity will do it) but the quality isn't much better.
If a YouTube video, you'd do better to download said video and use another program to extract the audio.

Of course if it's music you're after, stand-alone MP3s are available at online retailers for little money and the quality will be 10x better than anything you get on YouTube.
