My brothers been on my pc and said hes changed some settings in regedit, he said they are XP tweaks that make your machine run faster and hes also downloaded and run a program called Microsoft Bootvis

I also have auslogics bootspeed on my pc and hes been into that tweaking and he turned off system restore so I cant go back

What do I do (after ive given him a clip round the earhole lol)

Sorry I forgot to add that my pc is messed up, everything is 3 times slower to load, firefox loads after 20 clicks of the quick launch button and then 20 firefox pages open

I wanted to ask if there is any way to restore my registry to what it was before my bro started tweaking it

should be in C:\windows\erdnt\

pick the folder with the closest date then click on the erdnt icon to restore it

good point, I thought you meant it was only turned off recently

you don't have any other backups from CCleaner or tools like that ? Have you had a look inside the programs Microsoft Bootvis and auslogics bootspeed ? Chances are they contain reg cleaners, and would have made a backup if they were run

guessing it hasn't fixed your problem ? You may want to talk to your brother and see if there are any backups and what exactly has he done

You haven't said what exactly are the problems either, if you can expand on what's wrong
