I have a Dell with windowsXP. One morning I turned on the computer and nothing happened. The monitor (flat screen 19") was blank except for maybe gray lighting..like a back light...there was no log on, or bios info nothing, It was black. I tried logging on in safe mode, but the same thing happened, nothing on the screen. When pressing the buttons on the monitor itself, "Brightness/Contrast", "Main Menu", which include exit, positioning, image settings, ect....I see that little window...but nothing else. I was told that It might be the monitor cord, so i replaced that...same thing. Could this be the monitor or is there something more serious wrong. I'm at work and just found this site, so i don't have the specific specs of my computer...please advise if you can..

Quick test if you have another monitor or another system.
Test the monitor on another system or test a different monitor on your system.
