I cant follow sokrok's advice because I cant connect to the internet to do a virus and spyware scan.
I am running out of options here. This is so frustrating!
If I get a windows ME boot disk could I reinstall it?
As I said, the setup.exe file is no where to be found when I run a search

you;re on the internet now....download the programs to another computer and burn it to a cd.

Yes, if you get a winme cd you can reinstall--what is this system? There may be a winme hidden partition....(though that's less optimal then the other options)

no, the computer I am speaking on is not able to connect to the internet and it is not in close vicinity to me so that I could burn a cd.

if I burn the cds on my computer could I run winsock and/or other programs without having to connect to the internet? What about anti-virus and spyware programs?
