Got infected with a Rouge Security virus last night

We got infected last night for unknown reason but immediately got KAPERSKY virus protection program and the virus kept saying everything was infected and would not let us open kapersky so we turned off the computer for the night and this morning we got kapersky virus protection program to scan and it said that all the viruses were detected and we deleted them. The only problem there is now is that when we try to open up the internet explore window it trys to open up Google window and says that "invalid request" and in the URL entry box it says that it is at "virusalert.com" , etc. Differnt URLs when we try.

We are still scanning our computer right now but do you have any advice to nip this thing in the butt?
