XP won't load login screen

Hi there,

After my previous issue about the corrupt/missing system file (now solved using recovery console) I tried to start up XP, it displays the loading screen fine, but then nothing happens. Its just a black screen, with no cursor or anything. I have no idea what to do, and the web has so far proved unreliable. Could anyone advise me how to solves this?
