My husband and I got some software called Fix-it for virus protection and it came with some extras to improve computer speed, etc. My husband was trying to "clean up" the computer and it get rid of some programs and it was still deleting after about a day and a half so I stopped it because it worried me he was deleting so much.

Now we are constantly getting Windows Installer Popups. I also tried to download Java and it would not let me download. Also he did something that I can no longer use Ctrl, Alt, Delete. A pop up comes on that says "Task Manager has been disabled by your administrator" We only have the one account on the computer.

I tried just re-installing the operating system but it just keeps restarting the computer.

I know its a lot but besides throwing this computer out I do not know what to do!! Any help would be great :)

If the system does boot into windows then I suggest you go to the Malware Removal and Spyware Removal Forum and run all the steps located in the
START HERE. These self-help tools will help you clean up 70% of problems on your own.
If you are still having problems after doing the steps, then please post the reguested logs in THAT forum.
If you are unable to run any of the tools then start a new topic in the malware forum and put this in the subject line...I am unable to run any malware tools

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
