Internet sharing is disconneting my wireless connection

When I go into network connections and turn on the "allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection" my wireless connections fails. Im am trying to use my laptop as a gateway and connect my xbox 360 through the ethernet port on my laptop. Any suggestions why my connection fails when I turn on internet sharing and then reconnects as soon as I turn it off would be greatly appreciated! Thanks to all.
