microsoft works files "lost"

Computer crashed and I used the backup disk to get back up. All my microsoft files are now saved as Windows.old how do I extract these files?

You'll find the folder is called Windows. old and it's a copy of the installation and the files from whatever version of Windows you had before. Your stuff should still be in there somewhere.
