Hi,

This is my first post.

I seem to have some sort of malware on my Windows XP machine. ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite stopped working with "vsmon.exe is not a valid Win32 application". I read the Malware & Spyware cleaning guide, but have got stuck at the 3rd hurdle. I was able to download and run TFC and ERUNT ok. I downloaded MBAM but was unable to run the install - it appeared to do nothing. I then renamed it and it seemed to install ok. But now I can't run it - even if I rename it, it appears to do nothing.
I now also find that my browser terminates often when I navigate to a web page that refers to MBAM.

Help please. What should be my next step?

Thanks.

Skip MBAM and run OTL and GMER if you can.

Hi Ron,

Thanks for the help.

As I was able to do so little, and as my machine was getting busier and busier apparently doing nothing, I have decided to re-format and re-install.

Thanks again,
John.
