failed to query ICP

plaese help me guy, after I scan for virus and reboot my computer, I cann't connect to internet. it keeps saying failed to query TCP. I haved read the solution on forum, but I don't have a cd-rom win XP. I now study in Italia and live in domitor, so it's difficult for me to find out the modem or do sth with it cause that modem is not mine. plus I'm totally newbie, can you guy help me please, I need internet for mu study. thankx a lot

Try this if you are running XP-SP2 or SP3:

Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> Command Prompt

Type in netsh winsock reset and press <Enter>

When it says "successfully reset the winsock", restart Windows.

Now bring up the command prompt again [Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> Command Prompt]

Type in netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt and press <Enter>

Restart Windows again.

when i type in netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt and press <Enter> nothing happen, then I restart and now the internet is limited or no connectivity, but when I used another laptop the internet still works. why?
