HELP! Orange livebox - laptop connection problems

As I was having a few intermittent connection problems I exchanged my old livebox and upgraded to the new Mini 2 FDC2 ...
and have not been able to connect my laptop to the internet via ethernet or WIFI since...

I've gone through every possible check i can think of...

1) Followed setup instruction from Orange to the T
2) Checked cables and connections
3) My lappy task bar bubble icon confirms ethernet cable is connected (100.0 mbps)
4) Have checked my configuration is correct via livebox... http://192.168.1.1/h.../header_pc.html which also confirms the laptop is connected via ethernet.
5) Have turned power on and off on the PC, Livebox and the lappy...
6) Have rebooted Livebox
7) Automatic setting detection box is checked and LAN proxy server box is unchecked

Please has anybody any ideas?
Any help would be much appreciated...
