XP Won't Fully Boot - No Desktop

After cleaning a number of viruses my XP Media Center won't load completely. I can login but then get a blank screen - no desktop. Pressing alt-ctrl-del launches the task manager which will allow me to launch most programs but not explorer.exe.

It appears you may have a Malware problem...
