It's only a blank screen with no taskbar or programs on the desktop.
You can get everything back to normal with the Task Manager, but it's a pain.
Is there anyway to fix my problem other than reinstalling Windows?
I don't have the disc for that.
I'm running XP, and I uninstalled the theme.

Please help me.

No one has been able to help me with this.

How To Restore back to a earlier date.

To do a System Restore follow these steps:

 Click Start and then to All Programs
 Scroll to Accessories and then System Tools
 Click on System Restore
 A Welcome screen will come up and you need to click on Restore My Computer To A Earlier Date
 Then click on Next
 Now you will see in the window Select A Restore Point. From here select a date a couple of days before the problem started.
 Then click Next
 On the Confirm Restore Point Selection window verify the Restore Point you chose is correct.
 Close all open programs and click Next
 The computer will now automatically shut down and reboot. When it restarts you will see ”Restoration Complete” page and then click OK
 Once you have made sure that everything is now running correctly then please reply back with the results.
If this does not work then follow the next steps to do a Repair Installation

I did a system restore like you said, but it did not work.
It kept saying something like, "Restoration blah blah"
and "No changes have been made to your computer"
I tried several different dates.

I've scanned by computer several times, and even used different scanners, and they all come back clean, so I don't think it's a virus.

It is possible you may have a infection. I had the same thing happen last year downloading from a site I thought was safe and reputable. It may be worth a trip to the malware forum just to have them check your system out to be sure. At least then we would know if this is something that may not be hardware or software related.

I suggest you go to the Malware Removal and Spyware Removal Forum and run all the steps located in the
START HERE. These self-help tools will help you clean up 70% of problems on your own.
If you are still having problems after doing the steps, then please post the reguested logs in THAT forum.
If you are unable to run any of the tools then start a new topic in the malware forum and put this in the subject line...I am unable to run any malware tools

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).

Add a link to this topic so that malware tech can see what steps have been taken here

Not sure what you are referring to. The Start Here is where you start doing all the scans and programs needed to safe guard your data. From there you will then go to the other link Malware Removal and Spyware Removal Forum where you will start a new topic and include the logs requested by the Start Here forum.
You cannot reply in the first forum as it is for instructions only.

The problem seems to have solved itself.
For the past three days, everything seems to be back to normal.
I can only hope that it stays that way, though.
