I followed all directions on the must read this before posting page and am not sure if anything is better. Our firewall wouldn't turn on for quite some time and I finally got it turned on thanks to the winsockfix. I'm pretty sure that Wintools is on this computer along with a lot of other things, but I can't be really specific because all I know how to do is follow directions.:tazz: Sorry if this is very vague. Thank you so much for the help. Here's the hijackthis log.

First, I need you to right click on the desktop and go to New > Folder - click on it and name it whatever you want. Locate HiJackThis.exe on the desktop right click on it and go to "cut", then go into the folder you just made and right-click and choose "paste". This is to ensure backups are saved and accessible.

Next, Download LSPFix.exe to a convenient location. Do NOT run this program. This is only to be used if you lose Internet Access after removing NewDotNet.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs and remove the following:

New.Net Applications or New.Net Domains (anything that says New.Net)
SaveNow (or Save or WhenUSave)
Toolbar (or WebSearch Toolbar or Huntbar)
CommonName

If New.Net is not there, go here and follow Procedure 4: NewDotNet Removal Procedure 4.

In the event that you lose Internet access after removing New.Net, please double-click LSPFix.exe that you downloaded earlier. You will see 2 panels. If there is any file listed in the "Remove" panel on the right-side, leave it as is and just click "Finish>>" then reboot your computer and you should now have access to the Internet. If nothing is listed under the "Remove Panel", do NOT do anything - just close the program. You will need to use another computer to come back here for further instructions on what to do.

After removing NewDotNet, make sure you are disconnected from the Internet and that all programs and windows are closed. Run HijackThis. Place a check next to the following items, if found, and click FIX CHECKED:

Let's try a different online scan. It will take much longer to run, though...

First, download, install, and run CleanUp! (so the scan won't take as long because cleanup will clear temporary files) *NOTE* Cleanup deletes EVERYTHING out of temp/temporary folders and does not make backups. If you have anything in a temp folder, backup it up or move it to a permanent folder prior to running Cleanup!

Then, Go here: Kaspersky Web Scanner

Fill out the info, then click OK. Follow the instructions to download and run it. It WILL take a while to run. Let me know the files it finds and delete them.

Here are the results from the web scan. I deleted the files it found like you said. You didn't say you wanted a new hijack this log so i didn't put one in here. If you do need one, let me know and I'll be glad to post it.
thank you!

You're welcome ;)

You need XP Service Pack 2! Go to http://www.microsoft.com and click on "Windows Update" on the left then click "Express Install" to install the latest security updates.

Congratulations your log is clean! Great job on the clean up :tazz:

Here are some tips, to reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing the following applications:

Ewido Security Suite <= Protection against Trojans, Worms, Dialers, Hijackers, Spyware, and Keyloggers.

Detect and Remove Programs:
  • How to use Ad-Aware to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Ad-Aware.
  • How to use Spybot to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Spybot. Similar to Ad-Aware, I strongly recommend both to catch most spyware.
Prevention Programs:
  • Spywareblaster <= SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed.
  • Spywareguard <= SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
  • MVPS Hosts file <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well known ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your computer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer
  • Google Toolbar <= Get the free google toolbar to help stop pop up windows.
