Laptop is 2 mos old. USB port quit so we sent it back to HP. They said the prongs touched and shorted out the mother board. It wasn't covered under warrenty and was a $400 fix. There is no internal bluetooth, no PCI port, and no firewire connection. It there ANY way to get the use of a mouse instead of the touchpad? Everything else works on this BRAND NEW computer. It was a lower end, but it was all we needed.

THANKS for any and all suggestions!

What's wrong with the touchpad?

If you have a Cardbus slot on your laptop (you don't specify which model you have or where you currently reside) then something like this might be an idea:

Thanks for your response Neil. There is no PCI port so the Cardbus wouldn't work.

Also, the touchpad works fine, but we do gaming as well as a lot of picture cropping so a mouse is really needed. Any other ideas??

Thanks,
Susan
