Hi all, im not completely computer iliterate but my knowledge of them is far from substantial.

So here goes, my laptop keep's freezing whereby all i can do is manually hold down the power button to turn it off and back on again.

It seems fairly random but happens when watching you tube or opening new browser windows, downloadng large files, generally when waiting for stuff to load, also it happens when trying to transfer files from a usb stick ,usually multiple files at once rather than single small files.

Any help in trying to aleviate this problem would be much appreciated, and what steps i would need to take to gather information to help you help me.

i'm not sure if it is heat related so i downloaded speedfan and noted the temp1 reading is generally around 55 celcius whereas the hd0 reading is at 35ish yet the fan is running while at this temperature.

Thanks, AJ
