Hello, I was using my computer online and then my programs was not responding so I shut down the computer from the start up button. When I turned it back on windows vista circle came up and then it went to a black screen with a blinking cursor. Please help me I have homework to do for school. THanks so much

Welcome to Geeks to Go!

Turn on the PC and immediately tap F8 until you see the 'advanced startup options' screen.

Use up/down arrowhead-keys to highlight "Last known good configuration" and press <Enter>.
