I realized my cdrom had a problem when I tried to use it to boot from my XP CD. It has never had problems in the past. It will play another other type of cd. First I tied the cd on a different computer, no problems. Then I used the primary cable on the dvd rom in the pc; again no problem. Thinking it was the cdrom that is the problem, I installed a different one (used so it might coincidentally also have a problem) It does not boot. The screen comes up with the message Boot from Atapi cd Rom and hangs there. I don't get the subsequent message press any key to boot from cd. How should I proceed to troubleshoot this issue?
