Windows Vista Home Premium Edition Reinstall guide step by step
http://vistahomeprem...nstallvista.htm

Or contact Gateway to get a Recovery disc (most are available, even in English :))
You could start here: http://support.gatew...rs/dlcenter.asp

thnks for the reply but i already done those steps and still no luck, its just stock in completing installation... i heard after u formatted the computer properly u can almost install any OS u want but of course u have the essential drivers. i tried xp too with sata drivers but it just went black screen. is there such thing that a laptop would be just locked to one OS CD? or did the gateway done or programmed their mobo so it wont be touch?

i cant contact gateway(japan) coz i live in japan and im not good talking in japanese :)

if i flash the bios is there a chance i can install the OS??

thnks

Hmm

OK I'll tell you the truth of the matter (well from my experience anyway)
I have seen some OEM builds that come out with say 512Meg of RAM
Then the User updates it to say 2Gig (as I would :) at least)

But when it comes back to a clean install (by removing the partition) it doesn't install !
I have then found that by removing the extra RAM cards, Windows does install.
After which the updated RAM can be put back.

This is only in my experience on some (varied) computer builds
There is no definite answer to agree or disagree with this (even by m)
It is just what I have found through experience only

After pausing and having a think about this, it could even be faulty hardware.

But I'd probably still contact Gateway to get a Recovery disc :)
