Hi, first off i'd like to say how much you guys rock, and how much I respect you for doing this, I am a computer technician myself, and know how hard it is to find time to even work on my own machine, let alone another person over the internet that I do not even know. You guys are amazing, and I respect you very much for what you do. I have a question. I have a customers PC in the store, and have had a few with this in our area, basically the machine has a Winlogon Notify in the hijackthis log, I try to remove it, but it just stays, I have tried removing the .DLL file, but it is being used by the running process Winlogon.exe. I have tried manually removing it from the registry, and have removed every remnant of the registry that contains this file name (fontras.dll). I have run scans with ad-aware, spybot search and destroy, have spyware blaster on the system, and Microsoft Antispyware. I have tried the "Delete the file on reboot" command in hijackthis, and killbox to remove this file, even after it is deleted, it comes right back and it back again. I have tried everything that I can do, but all I can tell you is the file is being run every startup somehow through the process winlogon.exe (part of terminal services ect..) I can't figure this out on my own, it's not urgent, it's just bugging me because I don't want to give the system back to the customer knowing there are still remnants of spyware on it. (the system seems to function great). Other than this little thing of me seeing this winlogon notify, the system works great, but it just bugs me. Please help, any input would be greatly appreciated.
