Outlook Express emails

My outlook express has gone mad. I use windows xp and outlook express keeps on sending dozens of emails i have already sent. It sends numerous duplicate emails every time i log on and again when sending new emails. Then when i log off it sends more duplicate emails. My friends are getting tired of this.

Can you help

How may emails are stored in Outlook, pls provide totals (no details 0f course) of the various In, Out etc.
