i have windows 7 but no aero and i want to change the colour of the taskbar

You could try using a third party program, but I can't recommend or endorse any such application.

Yes, to reiterate, there is no way in Windows to change your taskbar color without Aero.

Hmm, yes. As you know i've installed Windows 7 recently, and just after it ends loading theres a 1 minutes delay and the screen goes blank before it goes on the user select part.
