Over the past couple of months, our main PC has been really slow when browsing. At first, I thought it was due to dodgy settings and had these checked via our ISP (TalkTalk) help desk.
Nothing improved and I began to suspect some form of malware. Over the last few days, Hammerman has been helping to check the PC and is confident that there are no issues there (see thread "Google redirect + other stuff, Help Please.....Web pages taking an age to open")

Our laptop, which is connected wirelessly, is lightning fast by comparrison and it has struck me that the problems may have started after I tried to set up a network between the laptop (Windows 7) and the main PC (XP).
After much messing about, I gave up on the networking (I hadn't heard about you folks then)because the laptop couldn't see the PC and I just got stuck, fed up and disallusioned!!!!!.......so I gave up.
Is it possible that the problem I have now may have something to do with networking?
On one of the scans that I ran for Hammerman, this message appeared.....
Error - 20/03/2010 11:01:58 | Computer Name = MAINPC | Source = MRxSmb | ID = 8003

Any help will be gratefully received
