Upon running McAffee Virus scan, I found my computer was infected with a multitude of viruses. Although I was able to delete many, I could not delete at least a third of them. I ran Hijack This and am submitting the log below. Please let me know what I should delete. Also, I keep getting viruses, adware, etc. I have and use Adaware, Pest Patrol, and McAfee Virus protection on a regular basis to clean up my system. What can I do to PREVENT getting pests and viruses in the first place (besides banning my teenager from the internet)? Will a program such as Spyware Blaster help?

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.
F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=C:\Windows\System32\wsaupdater.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [wntcvehbem] C:\WINDOWS\System32\sudlzo.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Windows SA] C:\Program Files\WindowsSA\omniscient.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [nqfcrkv] C:\WINDOWS\nqfcrkv.exe

Reboot in safe mode (by tapping F8 at startup and select safe mode from the menu).
Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files in bold (if found):
C:\Windows\System32\wsaupdater.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\sudlzo.exe
C:\Program Files\WindowsSA
C:\WINDOWS\nqfcrkv.exe

Reboot your PC.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log, and let us know how your system's working. <_<

Deleted files per your instructions, and scanned again with Hijack This. The logfile is below. Unfortunately, the list of viruses remains. They include files named:
alchem.cab
alchem.exe
polmx.cab
polmx.exe
twaintec.cab
PreInsTT.exe
AtPartners[1].cab
These are just a few. Here is the new logfile:

Since we don't see these viruses active on your system, these viruses are likely located in your restore files.

To reset your restore points, please note that you will need to log into your computer with an account which has full administrator access. You will know if the account has administrator access because you will be able to see the System Restore tab. If the tab is missing, you are logged in under a limited account.

(Windows XP)
1. Turn off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

2. Reboot.

3. Turn ON System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

How to Turn On and Turn Off System Restore in Windows XP
http://support.micro...kb;en-us;310405

Also, clear your temp files:
Double Click My Computer (WinXP: Navigate to Start --->My Computer)
You will see an icon representing your harddrive (most likely C: Drive) Right Click on the hard drive icon and click Properties at the
bottom of the fly out window. One the very first tab (General) you will see a button labeled "Disk Cleanup"...click that button.
Make sure the following are checked:
Downloaded Program Files
Temporary Internet Files and
Recycle Bin

Click OK and Disk Cleanup will delete those files for you.

Reboot, and run a free online virus scan here:
