Hi doughboy400,

As much as Microsoft Windows is a decent product, it is pretty well known for the Blue Screen's. AKA BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death). I would say if it just happened once out of no where to not worry to much about it, but if it continues to be a problem, then report back because there is some trouble shooting that we can do.

Has it only done this once? Or is this a continued problem?

i has been happening for a while, like probly a month. it does it just randomly like if i were to leave it on during the night, the next morning it would be at my login screen. mostly while its asleep or while i wake it up it would be in the process of restarting.

Ahhhh, I see. In that case...

  • Posted Image
  • Open with Explorer (or save to desktop)
  • Extract Files to a location you can remember (Important)
  • Double Click Posted Image
  • Scan will finish, Click Edit, then select "Select All"
  • Click File, then Select "Save Selected Items"
  • Save as BSOD.txt.
  • Then navigate to and open BSOD.txt
  • Copy and Paste the entire contents into your next reply

And...

Let's look at the Event Viewer:
  • Download VEW
  • Save it to your Desktop
  • Double-click VEW.exe
  • Under "Select log to query", select System
  • Under "Select type to list", select Critical(not in XP) and Error
  • Tick the box for "Number of events" and enter 5
  • Click the Run button.
  • Notepad will open with the output log.
  • Copy and paste that log into the next reply.
    ------------------------------------------
  • Repeat again
  • Click the box for "Date of events"
  • In the From: boxes type today's date (presuming the crash happened today) XX/XX/XXXX
  • In the To: boxes type 10 days ago date (presuming the crash happened today) XX/XX/XXXX
  • Click the Run button.
  • Notepad will open with the output log.
  • Copy and paste that log into your next reply.

Do that and we'll see if we can find the culprit. :)
