Hello!

I followed your instructions and what can I say but ......Your Brilliant! :)

I checked my speed and I'm currently running at 4400 kb! :tazz:

I did go back into SpyBot and re-activated the Tea Timer and it still is running at 4400 kb.

Is it ok to leave it running and am I ok to just use the XP SP2 Firewall only? ;)

Also....when I ran a scan with Ad-Aware I got an AVG window advising me of a Trojan that was discovered.

It gave me several different options such as "Continue / Allow / Ignor and Send To Vault". (at least I think that was all of them?)

I selected Continue but wasn't really sure if that was the right choice.

What should I have done?

Thanks again for helping me solve this problem! ;)

Bob.

That's excellent! I wish I would have thought of Kerio and XP firewalls clashing sooner :tazz:

It's fine to have Teatimer and XP firewall.

I would just send whatever it is it finds to the vault (qurantine), then you can delete it out of there. Clicking continue is fine, as long as you don't click "ignore" and I'm not sure what the "allow" does, but I wouldn't try it!

It may have been some random trojan that found it's way to your computer through Kazaa, so please post a new HiJackThis log for me to make sure you're good!

Here it is!

Hope it's ok! :tazz:

Also, I had one more question if it's alright?

I've updated Ad-Aware to the 1.06r1 version and have configured it the same way I had the older version per your instructions.

Where I select the scan button there is a option which is not selected for "Search for low-risk threats".

Should I put a check mark in this box to select it?

Just let me know when you get a chance! ;)

Thanks!

Bob.

It looks great :tazz:

I've not used the new Ad-Aware yet, so putting a check next to "Search for low-risk threats" is up to you. ;)

Sorry to bug you again! ;)

But i just completed a scan using the Panda ActiveScan software and it turned up 5 different threats....all low risk... but all were Ad-Ware items that Ad-Aware did not detect.

ActivScan said it was unabe to get rid of them and gave me a link where I could purchase their program that would get rid of these items.

Are these Ad-Ware things something I need to worry about? :tazz:

And why do you think that Ad-Aware was unable to detect these? ;)

Bob.

Did you save the log from ActiveScan?

Do they all say "windows registry" or do they give a file path?

I tell you right now, if you continue to run the P2P program you will pick up Adware, spyware, malware. So, if you're obsessed with keeping your system clean I would advise not to run it anymore :tazz:

When you run ActiveScan and it just shows "windows registry" it's just an orphaned item in the registry that is not harming anything. But if it gives a file path, just go into Windows Explorer, locate the file it's showing and delete it.
