hi,

My usb ports stopped to work,
after and 4GB usb all ports stopped, i checked the usb on other pc-s but they got the same problems, so it was the usb stick.
But how to fix my ports now?

My PC is a Pentium 4 XP SP3.

I tried System restore, to uninstal my ports, so the pc auto. instaled it again but still the ports arent working, i got a printer and a mouse on USB-s they are all working just all kinds of USB-s not.
On device manager the usb is called an Unknown Device.

Someone can help plz?

Hi, That has also happened to me, but thats only beacause my pc got hit by lightning, Have you tried to update the drivers? Maybe drivermax could find the unknown device.

This will sound goofy, but I've seen it work many times when nothing else would.

Click Start, then Run. Type prefetch in the input field and click OK. In the Prefetch window, click Edit on the toolbar and choose "Select All"...press the Delete key and accept the change. Close the Prefetch window.

Shut the computer off and unplug it from the wall receptacle so it has no power applied. Let it sit like this for at least 30 minutes...then apply power and turn the machine on. Once it boots, see if your USB ports are back and working.
