I saw some other people get help here, and everyone seems to have their issue solved. I was hoping someone can help me out too. As other people have said, when I try to open any program my computer brings up an open with box. Internet is basically the only thing I am able to bring up.

All help, is GREATLY appreciated!

Hello dgabler...

Try running this Microsoft Fix for the file association problem.

I ran the Fix It that you directed me to, but it still has the same problems as before.

Did you reboot and then try opening a program?

If the reboot doesn't help, we'll take a look at some registry keys manually.

Are you familiar with using the Registry Editor?

Click on the Start orb and type regedit in the Search field. Click the regedit link at the top of the results to open Registry Editor.

In the left pane of Registry Editor, expand (click on the little triangle) HKEY_CURRENT_USER, then Software, then Microsoft, then Windows, then CurrentVersion, then Explorer, then FileExts, and click on .exe (Don't expand .exe...just click on the folder.)

What do you see in the right pane with .exe selected?

I'm not able to open regedit due to the open with virus, or whatever it is.

I see you also have a topic about this in the Malware Forum. Let's hold off and see if they can find any malicious software that might be causing this.

Ok. I posted here first and then noticed that. I didn't realize that that was a topic. Sorry for the overlap. Thank you for your time.

If, when you finish there, you are still having this problem, post back to this topic and we'll dig a little deeper. :)
