My Netbook is sick with Malware

My MSI Wind netbook (with 2 gigs of ram) was infected with the rogue" XP Smart Security" malware. After reading up, I downloaded Super Anti Spy Wear-Free Edition to take care of it, and PC Tools Firewall Plus- Free Edition. My netbook runs very slow now and I can't tell if it's from my new programs eating ram or if it's another serious problem...I want my netbook to run fast again- please help!
