HP c6280-Specified port is unknown

I have had this printer for sometime, running fine. Recently updated computer from Dell site. I restored to previous Dell update. Computer does not recognize printer. I uninstalled the printer as well as all HP folders. The computer notifies when the usb from printer is plugged in. Durring re-installation I get an error stating "The specified port is unknown". Printer folder does not appear in DEVICE MANAGER. I Googled and could find no fix, not even on HP website.Any help would be greatly appreciated.
