I have a Pc running Server 2003 Enterprise and I also have a laptop with windows XP PRO I am trying to ping them but it doesn't work. I have a Linksys Wrt110 and my desktop is connected to the router and my laptop is wireless. Now my mission is to bring all my laptops into a domain but I need to know the basics first. What do I have to do so I can make each computer see each other. My default gateway is 192.168.1.1 . Can someone please help.

OK heres what to do first enter the rout er by typing this in the address bar 192.168.1.1
this will ask for the password the default for linksys is ADMIN for user and same for password, you can change this once inside the router
click the status tab and then local networks to see if it shows the laptop you can see by the ip addy and the mac address whether they are there
do this first and report back then we can seeif you can see them with the server machine once you have mapped the network you should be able to see form one to the other
