Trouble Reformating Comuter

i have a gateway computer and it went down and i tried to reformat and type in format c: and sayscannot format network driver i put in restoration cd and says no hard drive

Try tapping F2 while starting your computer. This should bring you to a BIOS setup. See if there are any hard drives recognized, and reset to default settings.
