My problem revolves around the game RealMYST. I am already well aware of the issues surrounding its usability on Vista, however, all info and advice I have sought out so far has proven to be ineffective, at least for me. I have tried two different downloads of the game and each has presented its own problems. The first one, obtained from *cough*torrent*cough*, presented the "black-screen-then-crash-to-desktop" issue. The other download, obtained from this page here (removed link) provided me with the "There-is-no-CD-in-the-drive-despite-the-ISO-being-currently-mounted-right-F@#$ing-there" problem. Both times I used a full install, but it made no difference. Both end in the same result: failure and increased annoyance on my part, especially since I am attempting to re-obtain this game (I have legally bought ALL of the Myst games, so this is merely obtaining them again on my part) to show to my significant other.
I have tried many tricks, but have been forced to come to the conclusion that without somewhat helping ME specifically, walking me through the troubleshooting process, I am going to be doomed to bashing my head against the keyboard. I would appreciate any and all advice regarding this, as I have exhausted what I can achieve by myself (without suffering a head-exploding aneurysm). I eagerly await replies.
These are my system specs:
Intel Centrino 2 Processor Technology (2.0 ghz) featuring Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q9000, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 with up to 1 GB dedicated memory
6 GB DDR2 RAM (2 Dimm)

Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit edition with Service Pack 2

If any of the info I have provided is insufficient, or if there is one piece of particular information you need, please let me know and I will provide it.
Thank you very much for your time.
