WoW Burning Crusade

I've just bought the burning crusade expansion but i'm not sure if i've installed it right. I upgraded my account through the WoW site and it now says I am on the burning crusade and in game I can make the 2 new races. What I don't understand is I never had to use the disk and when I started WoW there was no updater which installs burning crusade. Is it installed?
