my computer model is

hp compaq V3641AU

i have conexant hd audio sound processor

my problem is i get the message of death "no audio output device is installed"

i have trawled through many sites with no answer specific to my problem

i will have sound occasionally when i start my computer but after a restart or shut down i will get said message and no sound with anything i use that requires sound

on the occasions when i have sound i update the sound drivers and still have this problem so driver problems are out

the device doesn't show up in device manager so i cannot access it to change any settings or the like

can anyone please fix this problem for me
