Ok, so we now know the bare minimum: it's a Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop, running Windows Vista Home Basic and your email client is Yahoo.

Still need the answer to "When did the problem start?". If it was recent, you may be able to use "System Restore" to roll back to a date before the problem started occuring.
