Hi,

This is my first time on this website because I am trying to learn more about computers and stumbled here. So, first and foremost thank you all for helping, even before you do, but I have faith that you can.

Ok, so I have Windows Vista Home Premium Edition.

Last night, for no apparent reason as I wasn't even near the computer, it shut down, but lights were still lit like it should have been on. I turned it off via the power button, then I got the black screen asking me to pick safe mode or normal. I picked normal. Then that dreaded blue screen with the STOP: c000021a {Fatal system error}, etc. message came on. I shut it down again. Now I get the black screen asking me to choose, launch start up repair or start windows normally. I choose start up repair and I just get a black screen with the bar the moves left to right (like it's trying to start or do something) then it just stops and I have a black screen.

I tried hitting F8 to get it to go into safe mode, it won't. I tried hitting the esc key, nothing. It is just dead. I tried to reinstall the Windows Vista DVD, it will not come up.

Please help. I saw a lot of posts, but didn't come across any for Windows Vista, so wasn't sure if it would be the same fix or not.

Let me know if you need more information to help me.

Again, thank you in advance.
